YEAR 5: These are our favourite cities around the world...
LAS VEGAS
Las Vegas is a big city in the U.S.A. It is located in Nevada.It is on the south of the U.S.A.
In Las Vegas there are lot of cinemas, casinos, restaurants and beautiful hotels.
It is famous for its casinos and for the famous rich people going there.There are many people visiting Las Vegas every year.
The flag of the city is blue and white and a little yellow.
In this city they speak two languages English and Spanish.
Popular monuments to visit in Las Vegas are: Bellagio,Stratosphere, The Venetian, Fremont Street and a lot of casinos.

HOLLYWOOD
Hollywood is a district in California ( the USA), in the metropolitan area of Los Angeles. There are many celebrities living in Hollywood, such as: Julie Andrews, Jennifer Aniston or Desi Arnaz.
In Hollywood there is a street called the Walk of Fame, there are many shops, restaurants, the Universal Studios film factory and big and nice beaches.
Popular places to visit in Hollywood are the Universal Studios, the Walk of Fame, the Hollywood sign and Santa Monica place mall.

PISA 
Pisa is in the north bank of the river Arno Itali. It is in North Italy.
Pisa is nice, big and fun.
Pisa has very important monuments. Some of them are the leaning tower, il Battistero and the Cathedral.
There are 89.052 inhabitants. They speak Italian.
The flag of Pisa is red with a white cross.
MIAMI
Miami is a beautiful and old city. It is an American city located in the southeastern part of Florida, around Miami River.
In Miami there are restaurants, many shops, cinemas, beaches, restaurants and a lot of tourists. Miami is taxed in a popular series called Austin and Ally. Popular places to visit are Little Havana, Ocean Drive and Art Deco District.

Hello! This is a project of a city we like a lot:
Los Angeles is a big city, it has 3.792.621 people. There are important films shoots. In Los Angeles there are many monuments, one of the most important is the Hall of Fame, where there is a handprint and the biography of the most famous actors.
In Los Angeles there are many cinemas, restaurants, shops, undergrounds and skyscrapers. The basketball team is Los Angeles is called Lakers. In Los Angeles Team plays Kobe Bryant.
There are lots of celebrities living in Los Angeles,for example: Nicolas Cage, Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, etc…
Manuel and Peter we love Los Angeles but we have not gone there yet.

Mexico DF is the capital city of Mexico. The country of Mexico is in the south of the USA. They speak Spanish.
Mexico City is the country's largest city as well as its most important political, cultural, educational and financial center. The population of the city is around 8.8 million inhabitants.
Mexico’s capital is the oldest capital city in America and was founded by Amerindians. The famous singer Paulina Rubio was born in Mexico.

OUR FAVOURITE SPORTS
We can't show you all our projects, but here you are a sample of the first ten presentations on our favourite sports:
RUGBY
I want to try rugby.
You need some protections and a oval ball. You need thirteen players in two teams. You can make tackles. It is very popular in all nations of the British Isles (Scotland, Wales, England, Irleand and Northern Ireland) and in some former British colonies (Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, South Africa , Tonga and France).

VOLLEYBALL
I want to try volleyball.
Volleyball is a team sport. There are two teams of six players, separated by a net. Each team has to ground a ball on the other team's court. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since 1964.
The complete rules are extensive. But simply, play proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball, from behind the back line of the court, over the net. The receiving team must not let the ball touch the ground in their court.
You need special clothes and a special ball.

SKI
Skiing is a recreational activity and competitive winter sport. The skier uses skis to glide on the snow.
You need a pair of skis, two poles, a helmet and warm clothing to go skiing.
It is a sport that can be done alone.
There are many types of competitive skiing: slalom, speed, freeride...
In competitions they always make a race to see who wins.
Skiing has a history of almost five millennia.
Skiing is my favourite sport !!!!!!!!

SCOOTER
A kick scooter, push scooter or scooter, is a human-powered land vehicle with a handlebar, deck and wheels.
It is propelled by a rider pushing off the ground.
The most common scooters today have two hard small wheels, are made primarily of aluminium and folded in different materials.
it is a sport for boys and girls.

Basketball, the Best Sport
Basketball is a very good sport, and it is my favourite one:D
The player Michael Jordan is a legend in the world of basketball.
In basket you need a ball and a complet equipment: trainers, shorts, a t-shirt.
The court is rectangular and has two opposite baskets.
In basketball there are always two teams of five players.
Basketball is a sport very typical in my country and in the USA.
I like basketball players such as Michael Jordan, Dennis Rodman and Scottie Pippen.

SKATING
Skating is a sport that tries to slide and have fun.
The first time you try it, you can fall many times.
Later, you become an expert and win lots of competitions.
To do this sport you need a pair of rollerskates and a flat track to go roller skating.
You can participate in races or play with your friends on skates.
I love skating!!!
I recommend you to try this sport, it is fantastic !!!

ROCK CLIMBING
I want to try rock-climbing.
Rock climbing is a mountain sport.
You need a rope, a helmet and especial shoes.
It's a bit dangerous so normally it’s done by adults.
It is a funny sport but you have to take care.
There are excellent rock-climbing teachers, so you can learn it feeling safe.
SWIMMING
Swimming is a very interesting and fun sport.
You need: a hat, goggles, a swimsuit, a pair of flip-flops and of course, you need to have a Pool or go to the sea.
If you are an expert, you can participate in competitions in different countries.
As my English teacher Neus, I love swimming. We often meet in the same centre: the Municipal Pool of Palafrugell.
My colleagues are very nice and friendly, they also love swimming.
My instructor is called Jorgina, she is the best instructor in the world.
You have to try this sport, it is fantastic!
Swimming is my favourite sport!!!

SNOW
My favourite sport is snowboarding.
It is a winter sport. You need to go to the mountains and to the slopes. To go snowboarding you need: a snowboard, two thick gloves, a good anorak and special boots…
It is a difficult sport, but I like it a lot.
There are many competitions where people shows their skills on jumps, twirls, speed or endurance. It is fantastic!!!
ICE- SKATING
Ice skating is a sport about moving on ice by using ice skates.
It can be done for a variety of reasons, including exercise, leisure, travelling, or being healthy.
Ice skating occurs both on specially prepared indoor and outdoor tracks, as well as on naturally occurring bodies of frozen water, such as lakes and rivers.

eTwinning
Since September, we have inscribed our school to the eTwinning plattform in order to share ideas and develop collaborative projects in Europe.
After different contacts, we have chosen to collaborate with our friends in Hungary, leaded by Violetta Kadar, the teacher that came to Begur in our last Comenius Project (October 2011).
These are the Christmas cards and the letter we sent them to start our collaboration.
